King’s Mountain Art Fair
The King’s Mountain Art Fair, nestled in the redwoods off of Skyline Drive, is one of the most dramatic settings to show art, and a show I look forward to every year. It’s a chance to support the local community (15% of proceeds support the volunteer fire department) but also to enjoy the wonderful energy the families and collectors bring as they explore the art while wandering in the woods.
Setup: No Joke.
My booth was located on a steep slope — from driving up there to unload, to trying to level out every shelf and table, it’s a real challenge to get everything set up. Fortunately, this year’s had some cool marine layer mornings, which means we were visited by banana slugs.
Beginning to see the light…
When the light did pass through the trees just right, it just made everything look so spectacular. It’s hard to capture in photographs how the light reflects off of glossy or glittery pots, but these looked even better in person!
